GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. It can be outlined as the operational parameters required for a food company to properly and safely produce food. Compliance with good manufacturing practices, GMP is heavily emphasized in all pertinent food legislation and customer certification criteria.
Why GMP is of Great Importance?
If you want to produce food in a safe manner then GMP is of utmost importance. It is the legal and moral duty of the food industry that they prepare and produce food items that are not supposed to harm the people consuming them. It can cost food businesses a pretty penny if they do not follow sufficient practices related to good manufacturing. Who Needs GMP Training?
All individuals who are in the process of food production are required to receive training as per the rules not only at the initial level but also while the process is ongoing. In other words, right from short-term employees to long-term staff members and new hires to existing ones, all need GMP training.

- It is mandatory for all employees to properly wash their hands in various scenarios:
- Before beginning their day-to-day task,
- lunch or breaks,
- managing unhygienic materials,
- using washroom,
- Or, whenever it is required to curtail microbiological contamination
- It is important to work only in clean and hygienic clothing.
- Maintaining personal hygiene is of great importance to employees.
- Fuzzy and without sleeves clothes are not allowed to wear.
- Nails should be properly trimmed and cleaned.
- Women are not supposed to use fingernail polish or they must use gloves while working.
- Hair net and bear net to be used all the time.
- No jewelry is allowed to wear while working in the plant.
